Connections Program
Over the years an informal network has existed around the lake which connects youth with families providing work opportunities. These opportunities range from helping out with the children or grandchildren to yard work and light maintenance. Each summer, the Association and other summer employers in the area are unable to provide positions to many qualified youth due to a limited number of positions. Recognizing this situation, the Association is launching a program called Connections beginning in the summer of 2009.
The purpose of Connections it to unite families offering paid positions to those youth seeking summer employment. The SLA will serve as the central communications point for these connections using our website and Facebook page. Once a connection is established we will provide contact information to the parents of a youth seeking employment to communicate with a family offering a position.
