SLA Campsites
Moon and Bowman Islands are 2.0 miles from the SLA Resource Center. The boating route is very exposed to wind and boating will be difficult in rough conditions. Plan extra time for your trip. Chamberlain-Reynolds Memorial Forest is located on the mainland, and Wister sites 1-4 are about a 1.0 mile hike. Heron Cove can only be access by boat.
Mead Conservation Center in Sandwich Notch is operated by SLA under Special Use Permit from the US Forest Service. MCC provides access to SLA Trails in Sandwich Notch. There are three campsites that can be rented for small or large groups. Prices vary at Mead. Please click here for additional info on camping at Mead.
