Location: Meet at the SLA, located at 534 US Rt. 3 in Holderness. Click Here for a Google Map. We will head to Doublehead Mountain trail head from SLA.
About the Day: Now that the high heat of summer is behind us, it's time to take out the hiking gear, hit the trail and enjoy the cooler temps. Over the next two months, there will be a hike scheduled each week. This is a great opportunity to learn about the Squam Ranger program, meet other folks interested in hiking, and enjoy a day out on the trail. This hike starts at the Crawford-Ridgepole Trail off of Sandwich Notch Road and is a 4 mile round trip hike that ascends steeply towards Doublehead, where there are excellent views. Depending on who signs up there may be the option of dropping cars off at different trail heads and hiking the Doublehead Trail as well instead of a there and back hike. Hike as much or as little as you'd like. Timing is hard to predict since it depends on the hikers so we may end a bit earlier or go later. Folks are welcome to hike at there own pace as this is not intended to be a guided hike.
Since hikes are weather dependent, we will contact those who have signed up if any changes to plans arise.
What to Bring: Hikers should bring appropriate clothing, water, and food.
