What better way to start off Memorial Day Weekend than with a pancake breakfast overlooking Piper Cove on Squam Lake? Join the SLA on Saturday May 25, 2013, between 9 - 11 AM for our annual pancake breakfast. Find out what's new with the SLA, catch up with old friends, meet new friends and enjoy the lake! Cost is $8 per person, five and under eat free.
During the pancake breakfast pick up a flier with the SLA's upcoming events, programs, and check out our re-located store newly stocked with t-shirts, hats, water bottles, and more. Also on Saturday, May 25, SLA boat rental opens for the season so why not stay the afternoon, rent a boat, and paddle off those calories!.
Following the breakfast at 11:30 AM at the Fisher Family Barn there will be a brief volunteer orientation for those interested in learning more about new and established volunteer opportunities. After the orientation, SLA Director of Conservation Rebecca Hanson will lead a water quality monitoring presentation down by the water on Piper Cove while Director of Recreation Brett Durham leads a training out on the trials for volunteer trail adopters.
Finally, don't miss our first barn dance of the season starting at 7:30 PM at the Fisher Family Barn. All ages are welcome! This is the first of four scheduled barn dances to take place at the barn this summer (Mark your calendars for three other Saturday night barn dances: July 6, 2013, August 3, and August 31, 2013). Come to dance or just listen to some good local music. Cost: $8.00 adults, $20 families, students 1/2 price and children five and under are free.
We are looking for a few volunteers to help before, during, and after the Annual Pancake Breakfast. If you can help please contact Jennifer Mattrick, Volunteer and Communications Coordinator.
