Squam Contaminants Update

The SLA is pleased to work with Geosyntec, environmental consultants with extensive history in contaminant monitoring and management. Geosyntec is applying their considerable expertise in this field to help the SLA compile and evaluate contaminant data in order to create the best possible action plan that includes recommended sampling locations and laboratory analyses. Together the SLA and Geosyntec to are also developing a work plan to monitor contaminants throughout the watershed into the future while addressing potential management outcomes. This is an ongoing process that will continue throughout the open-water season, made possible by the capacity boost from our AmeriCorps crew. We expect to have preliminary results from the process this winter with an established plan to monitor and manage contaminants next year and into the future.
