Join the Lakes Region Conservation Trust on Thursday, August 6th for an adventurous day offered in partnership with Squam Lakes Association and Squam Lakes Conservation Society including a paddle on Squam Lake and a hike up West Rattlesnake. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about LRCT’s conserved lands, wildlife, and history along the way.
John Oliver LRCT Guide and Property Adopter, Dave Mallard LRCT Lands and Stewardship Director, and our experienced team of assistant guides will lead participants for a paddle on Squaw Cove. We will explore the Jimmy Point Preserve by water, a 6.3-acre property which includes 1,850 feet of shoreline and two small islands. We will continue on to Five Finger Point where we will leave our kayaks and hike to the summit of West Rattlesnake for lunch with stunning views of Squam Lake.
This trip will include approximately 5 miles of paddling and 3 miles of hiking. We will offer a shorter option on this trip for those participants that don’t want to hike up West Rattlesnake.
There is limited participation and registration is required. Details about the meeting location and directions will be sent to those who register.
Registration will be at: http://lrct.org/explorelearn/guided-excursions/squam%20paddle/
