Squam Speaker Series: New Hampshire Lakes Association - What is your water worth?
at The Squam Lakes Association 2/17 7-8pm
“How would the state economy be affected if residents and visitors who fish, boat and swim perceive any negative changes to the water quality in the areas where they recreate?” During the summer of 2006 seventy-five freshwater access points were randomly selected from 400 public and quasipublic sites. These sites represent the state’s seven tourism regions. One of the goals of this study were to create useful information for policy makers, and promote “big picture” thinking that overcomes the perception that growth and healthy public waters are mutually exclusive. Come find out what the numbers mean and why this is so important for the overall health of New Hampshire Lakes.
