We are excited to offer February and April vacation camps this year. Modeled after our much loved JSLA summer camp, adventure vacation camps are an extension of the summer FUN with a winter & spring twist. Instead of paddling on the lake, campers will snowshoe or cross country ski on the lake. Topics include winter & ice safety, snowshoe & cross country ski skills, animals and plants in winter, ice fishing, Earth Day and of course lots of games & adventures.
Campers are divided into groups, based on grade level, which offer slightly different activities.
3rd-5th grade: Spend your days exploring our natural surroundings in different seasons. February weeks focus on winter skills & topics include snowshoeing, ice fishing, animals in winter, snow caves, bird banding, and winter/ice safety. April weeks cover spring skills & topics including Earth Day, animals in spring, hiking in unpredictable weather, and becoming a scientist.
6th-8th grade: An intermediate program that dives deeper into understanding the natural world. Spend your days exploring our natural surroundings in different seasons. February weeks focus on winter skills & topics including XC skiing, ice fishing, animals in winter, snow caves, bird banding, and winter/ice safety. April weeks cover spring skills & topics including Earth Day, animals in spring, hiking in unpredictable weather, and becoming a scientist.
Leader in Training (9th-12th grade): Work together with SLA’s Environmental Leaders as you engage and inspire a love of the outdoors in younger campers. Build leadership skills and learn how to plan the day’s activities while maintaining group safety. This is the perfect opportunity to prepare for the next stage of responsible leadership.
Early bird registration is open! Save $25 if you register before February 10, 2019.
